So yesterday i went to watch the Broadway Musical- Jersey Boys...
good musical i must say (review is done in my previous post)
go catch it if you haven't!!!
(from now till 17 February 2012)

and after the musical,
Sihui sugggest we go and take photos at the newly set up"photo booth" in MBS.

It is a permanent social media booth called "The Social Pavillion",
located at Promenade South of The Shoppes.
so basically,
you just enter,
key in your email address,
and choose 2 of your desired backgrounds,
from the 8 customized backgrounds.

then you stand in front of the green backdrop,
and pose for 2 different photos.
then you choose your favorite photo from the two you took,
and *taadaa*
one hard copy of your photo will be developed,
and a soft copy will be sent to your email.
=))
and all these photos taken will be compiled into a Facebook album of MBS's Facebook page,
and people can view and tag themsleves.

the first one we took is totally "OMG"
cos we didnt know there's a time limit (it works like a neoprint machine),
so it snapped the photo while the 5 of us are styling our hairs,
checking our appearance etc. (didnt manage to the a photo of that, i/m sure you'll laugh =.=)
we were caught so unawared,
so you can totally imaigine how candid we are
LOL

and second one was better

though our standing arrangement was abit uneven...
hahahah

and since there was no one,
we decided to go in for another round of photos.

and this time round,
we posed for a "candid" shot

trying to act like we are "drowning"...
opps...
hahaha

and a final proper one

this is nice,
cos we look more "centralised"
haha  =))

so yupp,
if you happened to go MBS (to eat, shop, watch musical, stay etc.),
you can go and take a look and have your photos taken,
and leave a photographic memory with your friends and/or family at MBS.
=))

With the complimentary tickets given,
I went to watch the musical "Jersey Boys" with my friends today.
(and that is like one of the benefits to study in a music college...
you get to get "A reserve" complimentray ticket,
which worth $165 each!!!
hahaha =DD )

so here's a little background:

JERSEY BOYS...
is a jukebox musical with,
music by Bob Gaudio,
lyrics by Bob Crewe and
book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice (Rick Elice even interviewed Valli, Gaudio, and DeVito in writing the play, and pieced together Nick Massi's point of view based on those interviews,
as Massi died before the play was written).
It is a documentary-style musical,
based on one of the most successful 1960s rock 'n roll groups,
The Four Seasons.
The musical opened on Broadway in 2005, and has since had a North American National Tour, along with productions in London's West End, Las Vegas, Chicago, Toronto, Melbourne, Sydney, Philadelphia, Auckland, Brisbane and currently in Singapore.
The Broadway production of Jersey Boys won four 2006 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Actor (for John Lloyd Young as Frankie Valli), Best Featured Actor (for Christian Hoff as Tommy DeVito), and Best Lighting Design and Best Musical.
(information courtesy to Jersey Boy and The Four Seasons (band) Wikipedia)

Well,
initially when i started watching,
i didn't really understand what is going on,
as we missed the beginning  (rachael and i was late for 10min  =.=),
abit too fast pace for me to catch up.
but i must comment this,
they are really very professional that,
they change from one scene to another in a very quick, swift and professional manner (duh, is broadway production leh...lol)...
plus,
no lack time,
so everything is very pack and tight,
from one scene to another.
*thumbs up*

after watching for a few scenes,
i started to settle into the show,
and understand and enjoy thereafter.

and i espesically love some of the songs feactured in the musical,
such as a score of Seasons' hits like "Can't Take My Eyes Off You,"
"Sherry,"
"Walk Like a Man,"
"My Eyes Adored You,"
"Working My Way Back to You,"
"Dawn (Go Away)" and "Big Girls Don't Cry."

so basically,
"Jersey Boys" tells the real-life story of how four blue-collar kids from Jersey,
became one of the greatest successes in pop music history.
Four Seasons,
made up of Frankie Valli,
Bob Gaudio,
Tommy DeVito and
Nick Massi,
wrote their own songs,
invented their own sounds and sold 175 million records globally,
all before they turned 30.

the story dramatizes the forming,
rise and eventual break-up of the original four members of The Four Seasons.
The musical is separated into four "seasons",
each narrated by a different member of the band.
Act 1 comprises Spring (Tommy DeVito) & Summer (Bob Gaudio);
Act 2 comprises Fall (Nick Massi) & Winter (Frankie Valli);
each member reflecting theirs perspective on the band (history) and his contribution.

The actual Four Seasons band

I think the person who touched(not literally) me most is the "reflection" of Valli.
He tells that he gained fame and success in his music career (which is something he loves doing),
at the cost of his marriage and family,
making him loss his duties and responsibilities as a husband,
and as a dad.
I guess the most saddening thing would be his eventual divorce with Mary and,
the death of his daughter, Francine, due to overdose of drug.

I cannot really imagine if i grow up without my dad,
as in,
i have a dad yet i don't even get to see him like most of the times, just like Francine?
though my dad is naggy at times,
strict in regards to our studies,
stubborn on some occassions,
but,
he's always there when we are "in trouble" (not that we have ever been in big trouble before, like beating people up or sth)
and most importantly,
he LOVES US so much,
EVEN MORE THAN he loves himself,
and just this point,
it wins hand down to any other good points or bad points i could think of!
Really!
so you tell me,
how can i imagine living without my dad!!!
though we are not wealthy (in term of monetary),
but our family is just as comfortable and blissful (in my opinion).
I am really thankful to have a dad,
who can give us a such a comfortable life yet spending just as much time with us when we are growing up.

So,
well I guess,
if we are not ready to be a responsible and dutiful husband/wife,
father/mother,
not only in term of bringing enough or more pennies back to the family,
but also able to spend enough quality time with our spouse/family,
then,
don't ever start a family.

ok,
that's not the moral of the musical,
and i side tracked super lots
=XX

The "Four Seasons" cast in the Jersey Boys

well,
all in all,
i enjoyed the musical,
in a way,
admire the "Four Seasons" spirit,
the never-give-up spirit,
even after so much obstacles...
it's this spirit that led them to their eventual success!!!
Perhaps,
that's the spirit of people from Jersey?
haha
deep in my heart,
i really admire and salute this kinda people-
able to give up everything and give in everything for chasing their dream,
making it into a reality!!!
sometimes,
i just hope i also have the courage to give up everything,
and chase after my dream,
realising it!!!
=))
but at the end of the day,
do remember,
your family is important,
so is communication between people,
esp friends.
=))

anw,
Starting from 20 November 2012,
"Jersey Boys" will be staged daily from Tuesday to Sunday (Tuesday - Friday: 8pm ; Saturday & Sunday: 2pm & 8pm),
for a 14-week season (20 Nov 2012 - 17 Feb 2013).
Tickets are priced at $55, $85, $125, $165, $230 and are available at the Marina Bay Sands Box Offices (Museum, Theaters, SkyPark, Retail Mall and Hotel Tower 1 and 3 Lobby) and Sistic.

The musical is approx 2hour and 30 min,
with 20 min interval,
at Sand theatre of the newly renamed Mastercard Theatres at Marina Bay Sands.

So if you're a fan of oldies,
and/or a fan of the 60s rock band= "Four Seasons",
or simply a musical lover,
then this musical is a MUST CATCH!!!
=))

and i shall end my post with a video on Highlights From "Jersey Boys" on Broadway 2011

Well,  xinmsn has always been my "news media", for me to check up the lates news, when i want to log into my hotmail...haha
and reading "lifestyle article" is part of the parcel...LOL
anw,
so i came across this article 8 more reasons people cheat,
well, not going into details,
but according to the article,
it weighs down to these 8 reasons:
1. New smells get old- "no matter how hot you are, once you’ve handled them buck naked, new always gets old."
2. Monogamy is a mountain too high for some
3. Boredom- "boredom isn't as shallow as it sounds. It probably does get dead boring and the actual routine of same old, same old is worse when lived by the day than when penning it down."
4. Cheap thrills- "Cheating may feel liberating initially and the secrecy and sneaking around can be intoxicating."
5. Hormones- "hormones are to blame for avowing monogamy then crossing over in a split second lapse of judgement"
6. Instant decisions- "Most of the time, infidelity is driven by circumstances and a hormonal reaction to a stimulus"
7. Temptation to escape- "Don’t underestimate escapism as a powerful aphrodisiac. It pushes us to consider the merits of forgetting reality, for a while."
8. Having no willpower- "'Willpower' and 'self-restraint' have lost a lot of credibility these days. Research says they don’t curb the cheating heart."

You can read more from here 8 more reasons people cheat (can click on the link)
ok,
i don't know why i sound like i'm advertising for it,
but no,
i'm not...
lol

and that's not my main point,
bascially,
i was just reading through quite mindlessly (most of the time i'm not even processing what some of the points mean in details, especially when the elaborations are long...oops)
but this particular short paragraph caught my attention...

"Remember, our life comprises of more than just loving someone. Don’t make someone your entire reason for living. Don’t give them the full power of destroying your whole life. But do give them enough of your soul that you feel they complete you emotionally. Realise that being with someone is not about making them or the union perfect (it probably can never be), it’s about shared moments, mutual love, respect, trust, affection, care and concern."

...and that's what i always believe in!!!
haha
what about you??? =))

hahahaha...
so the title of this post is "Chomps with GRC" =PP ( which i think y'all can't see the title)
and i love the title of this post!!!
didnt know that the first letter of their names can make up GRC!!!
LOL
but nope,
it does not stand for "Group Representation Constituency" (in the context of singapore's parliament),
and yes,
it stands for my three girls "Gladys, Rachael, Charlene"!!!
hehe =PP

well,
had a wonderful dinner night with them at seragoon garden chomp chomp("chomps" for short)!!!
just in case some of you don't know where/what chomps is,
which i don't think anyof you won't (LOL),
it's like one of the best hawker hang out place,
with SUPER LOTSA GOOD and YUMMY FOODS,
it sells almost whatever local delicacies that you can think of!!!
haha
plus,
it opened till 2am!!!
great place for dinner or late night supper in the northeast area!!!
but the downside is,
you smell of food after leaving the place
=XX

Address: 20 Kensington Park, Singapore 557269
Opening Hours: 5pm to Midnight, some stalls are closed on Monday
Nearest MRT Station: Serangoon MRT Station CC13, NE12 (alight and take bus 315 or 317 from the interchange)

and we ordered the "must have" when you go chomps!!!

grilled chicken wings, 1 for $1.30 (6 for $7.80)

sambal stingray, $10 (there is the $12 one too)
hokkien mee, $4 (small one for $3)

sambal kangkong, $6 (there are $8 and $10 ones)
large longan and sugar cane, $2.50 each (small for $1.50)

pork satay, $0.50 per stick
table full of food!!! =DD

We spent a total of approx $45...
The food are not exactly cheap,
but the yumminess is definitely worth the price!!! ^-^

and i have such great time with them!!!
all of us are taking turn to be "joker" (not that we purpose want to be, but it just happened that we will keep saying the wrong thins, and make the convo funny)
LOL

and i'm like the "jokiest" with all my talking-too-excitedly-and-end-up-words-pronounced wrongly,
like,
"i expired (i meant to pronounce 'aspires' =.=) to go army"
"i shaw (and i meant to say 'show' =XX) her..."
"...so you must wear sunglass (and this was a grammatical error unintended)..."

then Glad ask us what are we wearing to sihui's wedding,
and after discussing,
we went into 1 second of silence,
and suddenly Glad start laughing to herself...
just imagine everyone in silent,
not saying anything,
then one person just start laughing to herself!!!
 EPIC!!!
haha
anw,
she was thinking to herself,
of wearing a panda suit (those panda mascot costume kind) to sihui's wedding,
and we all burst out laughing!!!
hahahhahaa
another epic moment of her is when we are on the topic of Rach and Zhenyuan,
so i said,
"他妈妈,都已经把你当媳妇(xi fu)了。" (meaning Zy's mother has already treated Rach as the daughter-in-law),
then Glad was agreeing to my sentence and commented,
"yalorr...you're already the 媳妇(xi fu), eh wait (turning to me), what is 媳妇 huh???"
and we all burst out laughing!!!
hahahahahaha

and rach epic moment when she said
"there's a BITCH (and she literally exclaimed out that word) at udders too!"
then she laugh out loud,
cos she meant to say "BUTCH"
which make us LOL too!!!
hahahahaha

and we started discussing about each of our hand "gesture/movement" when we were talking...
haha

really had fun dining with GRC!!!
hahaha ^-^
