hey peeps..
did u all catch the Campus SuperStar 2009 Pre-show Concert, yesterday night???
well,
as a singing-competition-variety-fanatic, i did!!!

no offence,
but i personally feel that this year CSS contestants(mostly) have a better vocal as compare to past 2 years contestants...
well,
of cos there'r good vocalist among the past years contestants like Teresa(曾咏霖), Zhiyang(黄智阳),kym(黄韵琴), and a few more etc. ...
however,
u cant deny that there'r weaker vocalist among them too...
but this year have more contestant blessed with a stronger vocal!
anyway,
that was my overall 1st impression of them thru the pre-show...
so let's hope they wont bring disappointment to us during their heats(quarter-final)!!!

well,
i cant rmb exactly everyone's performance,
however,
there's a few of them who left me with deeper impression...
1stly,
it's Joselin(黄慧婷)...
she appeal to me as a beauty upon first impression...
got the 亭亭玉立的淑女kinda feel...
but when she sang a-mei's 《爱什么稀罕》with CSS1's Geraldine,
it turn out that she's a girl with "rocker's attitude" onstage...
which i tink is a good start!!!
haha...
and not only that,
she put up "muay thai" asher talent showcase...
so i muz say,
this girl definitely has more substance under her look!!!

2ndly,
it's Ai Jia(蔡艾珈)...
she's a short sweetie...
with a height of 142cm, she's blessed with a unique charisma onstage,
台风很稳...
and of cos, the way she noe how to portray hersslf onstage,
this is definitely not her first competition tried out...
well,
experience always come handy!!!

and she reminded me of Brevian, my fren!!!
haha
next up is Jarod(李弈贤)...
my 1st impression is "another boy of cute shawn type"...
LOL
but well...
this 13-yr-old little boy is definitely cuter than the Shawn...
and he's blessed with a wider vocal range too...
i hope his vocal range don't narrow down too much when he undergroes voice-breaking...

n i bet,
he's gonna be another mother-auntie-killer kinda contestant!!!

next up is Benita(郑琪颖)...
first impression she's such a sweetie-pie with such a sweet smile plaster on her face...
butbutbut,
when her face look really firece when she came out singing duet with CSS1's yiyuan,
as if the song,《北风吹过的夏天》, is bout the guy cheated her feeling instead of a sweet little couple!!!

so, Benita indeed has to pay more attention to her facial expression!
and last but not least,
it's Mavis(李李美子)...
she's not a japanese,
jux dat both her parents have the surname of 'Li' so there's double 'Li' in her full name!!!
special right?!? ^-^
and her voice is rather powerful too!!!

i find her quite farmiliar...
did a little check out...
n my doubt is confirmed!!!
she's a contestant of Teenage Icon 2008..
(a little background info bout Teenage Icon...
it's used to be a singing competition organized by Teenage Magazine...
however, it had been transformed into a talent competition instead, since last year, where there'r catagories including beatboxing, dance, singing etc. ...
Nathan Hartono and Ming Bridges are previous champion of Teenage Icon 2005 and 2006 respectively...
and became artist of Music n Movement due to this competition too!!!)
anyway, back to Mavis,
she didnt make it to the semi-final of Teenage Icon 2008...
and it reminded me of Sheryl(朱秀苹), contestant of CSS1,
who also didnt manage to make it into the final of Teenage Icon 2007...
and i suddenly realise,
some finalists of Teenage Icon, who took part in Campus Superstar's audition, didnt make it into Campus Superstar too,
except CSS2's Agnes...
hmm...
so it set me into tinkin...
is there a contradiction between this 2 singing competitions???
hmm...*pondering* ?_?

am anticipating to their next monday showdown time!!!

hope they bring enjoyment to the audience and not disappointment!!!
